It is a legal obligation in some UK jurisdictions (Wales & N.I.) that a ‘Core of Knowledge’ course from a recognised or approved trainer is provided as a requirement of registration and/or licensing.

Aligned to Regulated framework

Online Laser Training (OLT) laser/IPL theory courses are quality assured customised programmes of study that are bespoke to OLT and not available on the UK regulated framework. However, our programmes have been mapped to the relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS) and aligned to the regulated framework. This means our ‘Core of Knowledge’ Laser User course is equivalent in academic terms to a Level 4 qualification.

Typically, the course takes 2 – 5 days to complete, with a four week maximum duration to finish the course.

Language competence

All people enrolled in courses provided by Online Laser Training must be proficient in spoken and written English, comprehension and expression, with particular emphasis on reading ability. These courses include technical instructions, advice and recommendations. The ability to understand and follow these will be crucial to a successful completion of the courses and fitness to practice autonomously as a laser therapist and be responsible for safe, person-centred care.

If English is not a first language, then there is an expectation that learners have at absolute minimum, passes in reading ability from the language programmes listed below, or equivalent, in order to successfully undertake these courses:
• IELTS Life Skills Speaking and Listening (At B1 level)
• IELTS General Training (Minimum band score 5.5)
